This illustration by Joe Barsin is a tribute to the award-winning U.S. Naval Academy sailing program and the nautical traditions of Annapolis, Maryland. Located on the Chesapeake Bay, near the Bay Bridge, USNA has the largest collegiate offshore sailing fleet in the United States and has a proud history of turning out collegiate All-Americans, College Sailors of the Year, Olympians, and America's Cup sailors.
Joe Barsin's design and Illustration work has been recognized in prestigious annual award competitions including "Print" magazine, "Communication Arts", "Graphic Design: USA", "American Institute of Graphic Artists". His illustrations have been showcased in three editions of the Adobe Illustrator Bible and he has given lectures on computer graphic Illustration. In 2004, Joe illustrated Maryland's Bay Plate, the state car license plate that "Treasure the Chesapeake". Joe is originally from Akron, Ohio, and grew up loving art. He was fortunate to have traveled extensively with his family while a child and experienced art and culture all throughout Europe.
