In this illustration, Joe Barsin visualizes this tragic but beautiful opera. Violetta Valery, a famed Parisian courtesan, is slowly dying from tuberculosis but finds strength through her love with Alfredo. At first she plays hard to get with Alfredo but gives him a flower and tells him to return to her when it has wilted. As with all great opera tragedy's, they are madly in love but another man, Baron Douphol, comes between them. Alas, the horrible misunderstanding is resolved just in time for the pale Violetta to die in Alfredo's arms. Opera composed by Giuseppe Verdi.
Joe Barsin's design and Illustration work has been recognized in prestigious annual award competitions including "Print" magazine, "Communication Arts", "Graphic Design: USA", "American Institute of Graphic Artists". His illustrations have been showcased in three editions of the Adobe Illustrator Bible and he has given lectures on computer graphic Illustration. In 2004, Joe illustrated Maryland's Bay Plate, the state car license plate that "Treasure the Chesapeake". Joe is originally from Akron, Ohio, and grew up loving art. He was fortunate to have traveled extensively with his family while a child and experienced art and culture all throughout Europe.
