Artist's Description

Sailing No. 5 was created to promote the Fifth Anniversary of the Annapolis Film Festival in Maryland. The use of the spinnaker to form the number 5 and the roman numeral "V" were visual icons to celebrate the important mile stone but to pay tribute to Annapolis's long sailing tradition. The artistic styles is art deco with a homage to Chalres Demuth's "The Figure 5 in Gold".

Joe Barsin

Joe Barsin's design and Illustration work has been recognized in prestigious annual award competitions including "Print" magazine, "Communication Arts", "Graphic Design: USA", "American Institute of Graphic Artists". His illustrations have been showcased in three editions of the Adobe Illustrator Bible and he has given lectures on computer graphic Illustration. In 2004, Joe illustrated Maryland's Bay Plate, the state car license plate that "Treasure the Chesapeake". Joe is originally from Akron, Ohio, and grew up loving art. He was fortunate to have traveled extensively with his family while a child and experienced art and culture all throughout Europe.
